One of the few artists that can teleport your mind back to the Renaissance is Sergey Lukyanov. All of his paintings have this aura of old and mystic that only the old masters could accomplish but there is something else in his art…something that I cannot put my finger on.
The colors are strong, almost pastelated – deep and pure shades that only pastels can give you- and he has this unique style of mixing the colors in such a manner that it almost looks like digital art.
The characters are usually the focus of the entire scene but the eye of the viewer in not bored with mere faces but it just evades in surreal “hat landscapes” or “dress cities” all mingled together. None of his artworks is “normal”, let’s make it clear Sergey Lukyanov is not the guy that just paints, he is not a technician but a true artist.
He puts on canvas what he feels and sees with the eyes of his soul. His characters are metaphors and symbols of his own imagination and his style is so unique and special with a mixture of surreal, visionary and abstract as it drags your eyes to them .
